Abandonment Issues: Time Capsule House
Welcome to The Time Capsule House, one of Ontario's most interesting and well preserved abandoned farmhouses.
The location specifics and family history have been a well kept secret amongst the small handful of explorers in the know, and I will maintain that same level of secrecy.
Even amidst the secrecy though, the house's contents, many of them still in place, give us a tiny glimpse into who these people were. They were a multi-generational family farming the land. They were collectors of many an item. They were very well read, intellectual folks, with a predilection for religion and philosophy. They were also an overtly musical family. Most importantly, they clearly loved each other. And now, they are gone forever.
I could add further narrative to describe the experience, which was phenomenal, despite being on edge at every moment and dripping in sweat, but this time around I'll just let the images speak for themselves.
Come on in and look around...
And that ladies and gentlemen is the Time Capsule House.
Thank you for checking it out.

Just amazing. The oddest things can be so poignant, like the pretty hats, or the pictures of the collie dog and the kittens. And is that an adding machine?!? Wow, when's the last time anybody saw one of those? Thanks for giving us a glimpse.
Thanks for posting these. These photos are really touching. And I admire you for not being tempted to take momentos.
I have to wonder why they all left the house and left all their belongings behind! They look like a loving family, I hope it doesn't all fall to looters.
Great photo collection, yet again. -- Mick
Thanks for the comments all!
Is this in Canada? It would seem the maybe originated from Scotland, or at least have family that do, with the picture of the Edinburgh Angus Club book.
Cool pics. I wonder where they went?
How can I contact you?
It is in Canada yes.
I can be contacted at jerm9ine@gmail.com
WOW!!! Time capsule indeed!
Amazing work, I really enjoy browsing through your website since I absolutely LOVE old buildings!!!
This is so sad though, did the family just leave one day? And how come it's still so well preserved?
It makes me think of all your other posts of abandoned house, did people just leave, did they die and no one took over or ... ?
Wow, this is an amazing glimpse into someones life. Wonderful that while there may have been a number of explorers through here, there is a respect understood in leaving everything as it has been found; a time capsule indeed!
Thank you for sharing. It does cause one to wonder the story of each of the families, what happened, where did they go, why has no-one wanted to save some of these belongings, memories and keepsakes?
At any rate thank you for sharing and for your respectful approach in your explorations!
Take care. :)
