Abandonment Issues: Trull Cemetery House

Trull Cemetery

MOTHER

FATHER

The Trull family first settled in Courtice, Ontario in the late 1700s and were quite influential in the development of the area. In the mid-1800s, Dr. Lydia Trull practiced medicine on horseback between Cobourg and Toronto, and eventually had a local school named in her honour. The nearby Trull Manner, built in 1855 by John W. & Lydia Trull, was demolished in 2005.

The stone and marble tombstones in the Trull Cemetery date from the 1850s to the 1970s and mark the graves of several generations of the Trull family. With the recent passing of my stepfather fresh in my mind, I stood over a small stone marker that read 'FATHER' and succumbed to a sudden wave of emotions. Wiping tears from my eyes with my sleeve, laughter burst from the pit of my stomach, and I shared a story with Ninja about my stepfather, that always brings a smile to my face. After regaining my composure, we exited the cemetery and sauntered over to the adjacent house.

I was taken aback immediately upon entering the house. For a brief second, with death on my mind, it was easy to mistake the dozens of stuffed black garbage bags with body bags. That brief second seemed endless, but alas, I quickly discovered that each and every black bag contained a car seat. A closer inspection revealed a toe tag on each and every seat, containing the make, model and year of the seat, as well as the company name of Dom's Auto Parts. The once abandoned Trull Cemetery House was apparently now an active car seat storage shed for the neighboring Dom's Auto Parts on Trulls Road. The living room, dining room and kitchen were all packed full of these black bags.

A stunning wooden banister led us up the stairs in the old farmhouse, where even more of these bags occupied all three of the bedrooms. In the master bedroom, two beige leather Grade A 2002 GMC Yukon front bucket seats had shed their body bags and offered us an opportunity to sit and relax, which we did for a quick minute. The only areas void of these seats were the upstairs hallway and bathroom. While descending the stairs, we stopped for another moment of silence, and peered out the window at the cemetery.

It looks like you guys have stumbled onto a house of a serial killer or a location where he dumps the bodies.
